Volunteers play a vital role in helping 211 deliver effective and quality services to
those in need in our community. We rely heavily on the dedication and commitment
of volunteers in order to keep up with the daily demands of assisting individuals living
in our community.
Volunteers at 211 perform a variety of roles including:
- Sunshine Telephone Reassurance Volunteers - a free daily telephone reassurance program
that is designed to check on the well-being of more than 400 homebound, disabled, and
seniors living in our community. Volunteers make friendly phone calls from a Lantana
office to check on the welfare of Sunshine clients. For many isolated individuals, this
may be the only call they receive all day. Click
