St. Lucie County Library System’s Books-By-Mail Provides Library Access to Those In Need

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – For St. Lucie County residents who find it difficult to get to a library due to long- or short-term disability or transportation difficulties, the St. Lucie County Library System offers the Books-by-Mail program.

Provided at no charge, the Books-by-Mail program allows book selections to be mailed directly to residents with valid library cards with a return postage-stamp envelope included. It’s easy and convenient.

Selections can be requested by the user or based on their preferences as noted on the application. When users are finished with the selections, they put them back in the same nylon bag that they arrived in, flip the label over and place the bag in the mail. Users may make specific requests on forms included with each shipment or by phone.

St. Lucie County residents, with a valid library card, can request an application by phone at 772-462-6870 or you may apply online at the library’s website:  http://library.stlucieco.gov and click the “Books by Mail link” on the left side.

The St. Lucie County Library System has offered this program for more than 25 years with roughly 70 patrons currently taking advantage of this service throughout St. Lucie County.
