What is the Stories and Screenings Event?

Join Help Me Grow - 211 Palm Beach Treasure Coast in partnership with Kilmer Library, for this free, event! The Stories and Screenings event is for families with children that includes storytime and developmental information for you and your child!

We will share fun, free, and age-appropriate activities that utilize household materials to create a fun learning environment. Participants will be encouraged to complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaire®, Third Edition (ASQ®-3) to see how their child is doing in those five areas of development prior to the event and will receive personalized learning activities to meet their child’s needs. 

Free toys and books!

Families will receive a free developmental activity bag filled with age-appropriate toys and books upon completion of the developmental screening at the event.

This event is for children ages 1-2 on May 17 or 3-4 on May 24.

There are only 25 spots available.

Why attend?

Participants will learn about the five areas of early childhood development:

  • fine motor,

  • gross motor,

  • problem-solving,

  • communication,

  • and personal-social.

What happens at a Stories and Screenings Event?

Sample Schedule
10 minutes: Story Time - Hosted by Kilmer Library
2 minutes: Video to promote COVID-19 resilience (ex. Hand Washing procedure for children)
15 minutes: Presentation on developmental milestones including activities families can do at home to encourage their development
3 minutes: Questions, comments, feedback, follow-up, etc.
