7th Annual Lifeline Luncheon “UNsocial Media: Being Happy in a Time of Digital Distraction”

West Palm Beach, FL (November 28, 2023) 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast hosted the 7th Annual Lifeline Luncheon on November 9, at the Kravis Center, Cohen Pavilion in West Palm Beach. Over 200 attended the organization’s signature event that raised money and awareness of the life-saving mission of 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast.

As the central point of access for information in Palm Beach County, 211 Helpline understands the importance of being at the forefront of issues that affect our community. The Lifeline Luncheon serves to educate attendees on the most current and relevant topics while inspiring them with stories of survival and triumph. This year's discussion focused on the theme of "UNSOCIAL MEDIA: Being Happy in a Time of Digital Distraction." The panel of experts in their respective fields shared their insights and perspectives on this topic with the audience.

The panel of experts included the moderator and chair of the event, Dr. Rachel Needle, a Licensed Psychologist, and founder of Whole Health Psychological Center; and speakers: Michaela Paige, singer/songwriter, and sole proprietor, gained fame through "The Voice," spreading empowerment, joy, and music's impact; Honorable Bradley G. Harper, elected in 2016, now serves in Circuit Civil Division; he is an accomplished lawyer, successful in federal and state courts, mentor, and native Floridian; Dr. Lori Eickleberry, Licensed Psychologist, Professor, and founder of mental health clinics, excels in diverse disorder treatment using evidence-based methods; Amanda Marino, Co-Founder of Next Level Recovery. Certified Recovery and Life coach passionate about guiding individuals to empowered lives, leveraging personal struggles; and Catherine Abbott Butters, former actress and model, and founder of the nonprofit Catherine’s Hope for a Cure.

At the event, Dramaworks showcased various scenarios that 211 receives, highlighting the nonprofit's vital role in the community. This served as a reminder that 211's services are accessible 24/7 to everyone.

Just prior to the start of the 7th Annual Lifeline Luncheon, Cathy Hershcopf, a 211 supporter and member of the Capital Campaign Committee, presented 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast with a $150,000 donation to support their ongoing Capital Campaign, in honor of her parents, Bill, and Sylvia Hershcopf. In exchange for her donation, the garden area that will benefit the health and well-being of the hardworking staff at 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast will be named after her parents.

Dr. Rachel Needle served as Chair of the 7th Annual Lifeline Luncheon, and Kathleen Hillman served as Co-Chair.
